Psychotherapist in Berlin

Living abroad can be quite difficult at times, especially when you have left your country for certain reasons, when you are being confronted with new challenges here in Berlin and when some things that have been affecting you for quite some time already have travelled along with you.

Psychotherapy can help you to find a way out of your concerns whether you are afraid of losing your work permit, for instance, or whether you have been struggling with difficult circumstances.

My studies in the UK, which lasted for two years, at both Manchester Metropolitan University and the University of Sheffield, have made me familiar with what it’s like to live in a foreign country and have also enabled me to conduct therapy sessions in the English language.

In my practice, I specialize in treating the following conditions:

  • Depression, burnout and stress
  • Anxiety
  • Personality disorders
  • Bipolar disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Low self-confidence
  • Relationship issues

I can also help you if you have

  • Any difficulties concerning neo-sexualities and alternative forms of relationships
  • Experienced sexual abuse or trauma

My therapy is based upon the school of thought known as psychoanalysis, which was created by Sigmund Freud, as well as developments in object relation theory that were pioneered by Donald Winnicott. This means that I can support you in understanding the connections between your childhood and the early stages of your life and your current situation. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a talking cure, as Freud put it, and together we will attempt to find words to better understand what’s going on and allow for truth to be spoken.
